I went to Gen Con again this year with Rob, Karen, Buck, and Lou, and this year James joined us.
We played a lot of D&D again this year. We got to play again this year with our favorite DM from last year, Zac.
Here are some of the costumes from this year.
The last few years the con has expanded to use Lucas Oil Stadium (where the Colts play) as well as the conference center.
Things got out of hand with books this year. I pestered a few authors before the con to see if they'd be there and whether they'd be willing to sign some books, and then some new editions of classic RPGs came too, so I was carrying around a pretty big stack of stuff. I had to move some books out of my checked bag at the airport to keep it under 50 pounds.
I was thrilled to get a Middle-Earth Role Playing, which we played hundreds of times as kids, autographed by S. Coleman Charlton and Pete Fenlon. Many thanks to Kelli at the Catan booth for making it happen!
D&D 3rd edition author Jonathan Tweet and D&D 4th edition author Rob Heinsoo autographed my copy of 13th Age, the game they wrote together (and Jonathan also signed my D&D 3.5 Players Handbook and Ars Magica).
Jason Bulmahn, the author of Pathfinder, signed my Pathfinder 2.0.
Great food this year.
